About RoamRadar

RoamRadar helps travelers compare eSIM plans before they leave — so they arrive connected without airport stress or unexpected charges.

What we do

We research eSIM providers, compare their plans by destination, and explain the trade-offs in plain language. Every country page, provider comparison, and guide is written to answer the questions travelers actually ask before buying.

Our goal is to surface the right plan for a given trip — not the most expensive one, and not necessarily the most popular one. We look at data size, validity period, hotspot support, activation process, and coverage area before making a recommendation.

How we review providers

Each provider is evaluated on the same criteria: country and regional coverage, plan flexibility (capped vs. unlimited), hotspot and tethering support, activation method (QR code or app), and whether the plan requires registration before entering the destination country.

We update provider information when plans change significantly — pricing, coverage, or new features. The "Last reviewed" date on each page shows when the content was last checked against current provider offerings.

  • Coverage: how many countries the provider supports and how reliable the local network partners are
  • Plan types: whether capped or unlimited options are available for the destination
  • Hotspot support: whether tethering is allowed and at what speed
  • Activation: whether the plan can be installed remotely before departure
  • Price: starting price per GB or per day, relative to comparable providers

Affiliate links

Some links on RoamRadar are affiliate links. If you click through and buy a plan, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running and the content up to date.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which providers we feature or how we rank them. We include providers because they are useful for travelers, not because they pay us more.

Editorial team

RoamRadar is written and maintained by the RoamRadar editorial team — travelers and researchers who have used eSIMs across dozens of countries. Content is reviewed before publishing and updated when provider details change.
